In August 2021, ANNA was approved as a new member organization of the Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC). NOBC is a coalition of over 24 professional associations, including AARP, American Nurses Association (ANA), and specialty nursing associations, working to increase nurses’ presence on boards with strategic influence to improve the health of communities. This membership signifies ANNA’s commitment to work together with NOBC to build healthier communities across America through the representation and service of nurses on all types of impactful boards.
Take Action!
ANNA encourages you to:
- Access the resources for nurses on the NOBC website to help you on your board journey.
- Register your current board service and/or indicate your interest in serving on a board. (Be sure to include ALL the boards you currently serve on, including corporate, governmental, non-profit, entrepreneurial, advisory, or governance boards, commissions, or appointments that have fiduciary or strategic responsibility.)
- Share your story by completing “The Reason I Serve” survey on the NOBC website. NOBC will post your story to recognize you and inspire others to serve.
Thank you for joining us in this historic and important work! Board service is an extension of leadership. Through our partnership, as nursing leaders, we will continue to make a significant and lasting impact in improving health in communities across the nation through the service of nurses on boards.
